Get your offer
Most lenders want to see a conditional or unconditional offer from a UK university before they sanction a loan.
We shortlist universities that fit your budget - 2
Work out the total cost
Add up tuition, living costs for the visa (London or outside London), visa fee, health surcharge and flights.
We build your cost sheet with you - 3

With or without collateral: which loan fits you?
There is no single best loan. The right one depends on how much you need, your university and course, and what security your family can offer.
- Secured loan (with collateral)Backed by property, a fixed deposit or similar security. Usually higher amounts, lower interest and a longer time to repay.
- Unsecured loan (without collateral)No security needed. The amount and rate depend on your university, course, academic record and your co-applicant's income.
- Co-applicantMost loans need a parent or close family member as co-applicant, with steady income and good credit history.
- RepaymentMany loans give a break during the course and a few months after it, with only interest (or nothing) to pay in that time.
Documents most lenders ask for.

UK education loan FAQ.
The questions we hear most about paying for a UK degree. Your case may be different, so ask us anything.
01Can I get an education loan for the UK without collateral?
Yes. Many lenders offer unsecured loans to students with a good profile and a co-applicant with steady income. The amount is usually lower than with collateral, and the interest is usually higher.
02What can the loan pay for?
Usually tuition fees, living costs, the visa fee, the Immigration Health Surcharge, flights and study essentials like a laptop. What is covered depends on the lender.
03Can my loan be used as proof of funds for the UK visa?
A loan sanction letter from a regulated lender can be used to show funds for a UK student visa, as long as it meets the UKVI rules. We check it with you before you apply.
04When should I apply for the loan?
As soon as you have an offer. Sanction can take a few weeks, and you need it before your visa application, so start at least 2 to 3 months before your intake.
05How much does a UK degree cost in total?
For a one-year master's, plan for tuition (often £15,000 to £38,000) plus living costs. UKVI asks for £1,483 a month in London and £1,136 a month elsewhere, for up to 9 months. Add the visa fee and health surcharge.
